Getting car insurance without a license can be done. But it’s not highly suggested that you continue to drive with no license. However, if your lack of insurance is holding you up from getting the driver’s license in the first place you may have no choice in the matter.
There are a couple of ways that you can go about this procedure. But again it is suggested that you get the driver’s license as quickly as possible. First you will be able to possibly find a company that will ensure your vehicle, but as another person driving it.
Tell them you are not planning on driving the vehicle but your relative or friend is going to be the person driving. The car though is in your name, so you are the one who needs to buy the insurance. Some companies may work with you in this case, and process that insurance policy for you.
Most likely you will need to buy your car insurance over the phone or in person in this case. Make sure the other person is with you just in case they need to supply any information to the company. Even buying a month to month policy in this case could help you get car insurance though you have no license.
The other way that you can get insurance without a driver’s license will need to most likely be done on the phone. Do not go to the insurance office for this idea though. When you sign up for auto insurance over the phone, you can tell them you have a license. Just hope they do not check the state records and see it suspended.
As soon as you’re approved and have a copy of proof of insurance go immediately to your driver’s department for your state. Show them your proof of insurance and get that driver’s license. Yes have another person drive you just to be safe.
When you’ve obtained your new driver’s license either go to the insurance office and provide them a copy. Or you can mail or fax a copy in many cases. It may seem a bit sneaky, but as long as you are planning on getting your license you will be fine.
It’s when you tell them you will fax a copy, but never get that license that you will cause problems. Most companies will eventually check the records online, and if you come up as not having a license your insurance can be cancelled.
